Frequent Questions
and some we thought you might want to know about
This is million dollar question...
Mostly because we think charging by the hour is a crappy customer experience.
Subscriptions put the relationship at the heart of the business, and instead of focusing on a single transaction we form partnerships with our clients for the long term.
Transparency, efficiency, and flexibility are the hallmarks of a subscription-based service. You have access to all services to start or pause as your needs change and with preferred pricing. And since we already know your brand, we can skip the onboarding process and get new services up and running much more quickly.
This means you have more options and more ways to grow your business than ever before without starting over each time.
And, everything is always managed and up-to-date.
No more getting ghosted by your web designer and getting left holding a bag of code you can't manage or update, because we have all the incentive in the world to make sure we respond quickly and exceed your expectations.
We talk a little more about our subscription model here.
Fair question! Hiring a full-time digital marketing person would likely cost you $65,000+/year, not to mention the months of interviews and thumbing through resumes. If that person has any real experience you can add $15K to that plus any benefits.
Then you have to also supply a workspace, onboard, train, and manage that individual. It's at this point you may realize that this one person will cost you more than 10X what partnering with CLK Media each year.
All that is assuming you can actually find this qualified person. It's becoming harder and harder to find good talent. Using CLK Media you can get all that talent for far less than the cost of a single employee.
You can create as many requests as you would like. We will work on each request 1 at a time before starting on the next request in your queue.
You can change the task you want us to actively work on at any time.
We use a project management tool that we give you access to. You can create requests and move the task you want worked on currently to our active project column. Then leave comments and feedback directly in the app.
No. The support time in your Care Plan is set aside each month and is not rolled over. This is so that I can dedicate myself to each client at their allotted time.
This is an "it depends" type of question...Certain websites require setup fees. Some websites have unique functionality requirements or large product catalogs so if your site has special requirements you may have a setup fee. Ongoing changes and updates are included in your monthly subscription.
If you prefer, you can opt to have a 12-month term by funding 6 months of your program in advance.
In short, to ensure your success long term.
Too many small business website owners lose control of their site over time and actually become a liability.
This is why our programs proactively include an 18-month partnership with a care plan so you have the assurance your site is going to be secure, up to date, backed up and performing at its peak.
After 18 months, you own your website. You can renew your plan to get a new design or add new features and functionality.
We'll fix anything we build for as long as you're a customer of ours.

We will automatically charge your credit card each month so it's one less thing you have to worry about.
The Add-ons allow you to add extra services to any existing plan.
Each adds an additional monthly fee and capability to your plan.
For Marketing Add-ons you are enabling the ability to request these types of services to your existing plan. Social Ads for example will enable Facebook and Instagram ads to drive traffic to your site or amplify a specific promotion.
With Website Add-ons, we first setup a repository, a staging site when possible, and an automated backup system to manage your code safely before adding new features to your site.
Yes, for all Subscription Website Packages, there is an 18-month agreement in which we distribute the cost of your custom website and provide ongoing on-demand support and proactive management of your website so it's always at it's best.
For upfront website projects, there will be a proposal/contract you'll need to sign to approve the scope of work and to protect both of us as we work together.
Please reach out if you have any concerns about the contract.
There's no option to cancel or downgrade the agreement early.
This is because we distribute the cost of your initial website design and development (in addition to the unlimited changes, hosting, and backups) over 18 monthly payments, and most of the design and development happens at the beginning of the agreement term.
However, you're welcome to pay off the total amount of the agreement at any time and we will honor our commitment to provide our promised services for the remainder of the 18 months.
Yes, but because we distribute the cost of your initial website design, development, and included features for your particular plan over 18 monthly payments, you would be required to pay the difference in cost between your current plan and the upgraded plan for the months that have already passed in addition to the increased cost per month of the new plan.
In short: Not in the first 18 months.
We've partnered with the best managed WordPress host, to provide a hosting platform that allows us to assure your website is backed up daily, proactively protected from those nasty web gremlins, performance monitored, and priority supported if anything goes wrong.
Keeping your new website safe, secure, and running efficiently is a huge priority for us. For this reason, we will not install your new website on any other servers.
However, once your new website is live on our server, you can cancel your current hosting plan if it doesn't have any other websites or emails connected to it. If you have detailed questions regarding our dedicated servers and hosting.
Or, if you chose to opt out of your program after the initial 18 months, you can take your website and host it wherever you wish.
Yes, you can use your own domain name registered with an external domain provider. If you don't yet have a domain, we can help you choose the right name for your business and register it for you.
We recommend a combination of buying your domain name with Namecheap and using their Private Email service or Google Apps (G-Suite) for your email.
If you already have a domain name, we recommend leaving it where it is and we will take care of pointing it to our servers when your new website is ready to go live.
Absolutely. The site we build is yours. Our Subscription Websites are a done-for-you service and all plans have the option of being bought outright during your first 18 months for the number of months remaining times its monthly fee.
With the SEO Essentials on the LaunchPad Plan you are getting foundational SEO services to set you up for future success.
The goal is to identify issues and opportunities to gradually increase your rankings in Google and other search engines.
We'll generate an audit for SEO on your website to identify potential issues that need to be resolved as well as an initial manual review to determine if there are any technical or layout issues that are hurting your SEO. We'll then create a list of tasks we need to work on.
SEO tasks could look like improving speed performance, fixing index or usability issues, mobile optimization, keyword research setting up redirects and fixing errors, adding alt-text, optimizing titles, descriptions, and other on-page optimization.

Yep. We've been designing and programming custom WordPress-based websites and plugins for 15+ years, and has (at times) been accused of being a bit of a nerd.
This works in your favor because we weave all that same experience and specialized skill that we gained building all those fancy custom websites into all of our subscription projects too.
All at a fraction of the cost of paying upfront.
